Onboard Training Audit - Overview
Darley Consulting Incorporated (DCI) provides qualified personnel to the offshore oil and gas industry in order to verify the competency of rig or drill ship personnel. A confidential audit report outlining findings and recommendations for any improvement will be provided to the company upon audit completion. The audit process is designed to aid the crew in achieving an even higher level of competence.
- All participants must have their basic courses completed prior to participating in the onboard training audit.
The following Emergency Response Team (ERT) functions can be audited for competency:
- Command Cadre (Emergency Management Team)
- Fire and Rescue Team
- Helideck Team
- Man Overboard Boat Team
- Life-boat Team
- First Aid Team
- Communications
DCI will ask to be placed in charge of the weekly scheduled exercises. This will provide the onboard management and DCI with the unique opportunity to see how the emergency response organization works under pressure.
The audit process lasts approximately 5-7 days (1 week, 2 times per year, per shift). During those days the DCI consultant will take emergency team personnel for a period of ½ to 1.5 hours to perform drills for verification of competence.
Each audit will be documented with records provided to the master/OIM of the rig or drill ship and copies forwarded to the parent company.
